Vitamin C IV
Vitamin C is one of the most important antioxidants within the human body. Antioxidants protect the body from oxidative stress generated from molecules called reactive oxygen species that can lead to damage to your DNA, proteins, and healthy cells. Humans do not have the ability to make Vitamin C within our bodies, so it is essential we get enough Vitamin C from our diet and supplementation. The advantage of IV Vitamin C is the ability to increase the blood concentration of Vitamin C higher than our body can handle with oral supplementation without negative gastrointestinal side effects.
You may know Vitamin C for its anti-cancer, antiviral and antihistamine properties, but Vitamin C is also necessary for collagen and neurotransmitter production. What is the difference between Vitamin C IV Therapy and High Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy?
Vitamin C IV therapy at doses lower than 25 grams is a potent antioxidant (scavenger of free radicals) that can boost the immune system, help fight infection and improve quality of life.
High Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy (>25 grams) is pro-oxidative, meaning it actually generates free radicals. At higher doses, Vitamin C interacts with iron and copper to create hydrogen peroxide which can kill pathogenic bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells. (Hydrogen peroxide is also created by our immune system and is perfectly safe in this instance.) Generally, we recommend our patients begin with 12 sessions of High Dose Vitamin C IV therapy. The optimal schedule is one treatment twice a week for six consecutive weeks.

This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps alleviate pain due to medical procedures or for migraines.
