COVID-19 Antibodies Testing
MORE INFORMATION ON COVID-19
- The 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
- The virus is thought to spread through respiratory droplets of people in close contact.
- Those respiratory droplets can either land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or be inhaled into the lungs. A person could also catch COVID-19 by touching a surface that has droplets with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, thus ingesting those virus droplets.
WHO SHOULD BE TESTED FOR ANTIBODIES?
Everyone should have this test done, even if you are not experiencing symptoms, as most COVID-19 patients don’t show symptoms. Additionally, it would be helpful to know if you have been previously exposed. Lastly, if you have tested positive to the virus previously, the antibody test will help you know if you’ve developed antibodies.
