PDO Thread Lift - Non-Surgical Facelift in Phoenix
Have you noticed your skin appears to be a bit more wrinkled or sagging along your jawline or under your eyes? As we age, gravity begins to take its toll, creating jowls, folds, and an overall aging appearance. To make these effects appear more severe, our bodies often lose the fat that gives our faces defined features, and our support structures aren’t as strong as before.
If you’ve tried all the “firming creams”, dermal fillers and even skin resurfacing, but you are not ready for the face/body lift with all the down time, we’re here to tell you good news: there is a quick, non-surgical option to help alleviate some of these signs of aging. A PDO thread lift can address issues of sagging without any downtime and with minimal discomfort.
WHAT IS A PDO THREAD LIFT?
A PDO thread lift is a minimally-invasive treatment that is a fantastic alternative to the traditional, surgical facelift procedures you’re used to.
This advanced aesthetic procedure provides instantaneous lifting effects, working to tighten loose and sagging skin on the face, neck, and even body. One of the biggest advantages of the PDO thread lift is that it delivers incredible results while requiring minimal downtime and recovery.
Before the PDO thread lift was created, surgery was the only way to eliminate the dreaded drooping cheeks and jowls – but now, you have another option.
HOW DOES A PDO THREAD LIFT WORK?
PDO thread lift therapies, such as NovaThreads or EuroThreads, use a thread composed of a substance known as polydioxanone, or PDO for short. These threads are dissolvable and biocompatible, meaning they are not a threat to living tissues. During a PDO thread lift procedure, the dissolvable threads are gently injected into the subdermal layer of the skin. The threads have tiny structures that “grab” onto and pull up the underside of the skin, helping to lift, tighten, and contour loose or sagging skin.
Along with providing immediate lift and support to the skin, PDO thread lifting induces the body’s natural healing process, which stimulates collagen production. Treatment areas of PDO lifting may include areas around the eyes, cheeks, nose, mouth, neck, jaw, and more.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PDO THREADS?
Two major benefits of a thread lift are affordability and simplicity. The procedure is the perfect solution for people with busy lives who can’t afford to take a week or two off from work as you would to recover from a surgical facelift. Additionally, thread lift appointments last under an hour! After their thread lift appointment, many patients find they can return to work immediately following the treatment.
If you are noticing signs of aging around your cheeks, lips, knees, eyes, or other areas of the body, or if you are seeking an alternative to the surgical facelift, PDO thread lifting may be an appropriate treatment option for you. Benefits of PDO thread lifting may include:
-
- Lifted and tightened skin
- Increased collagen production
- Improved overall appearance of skin
- No incisions required
- Minimal downtime
HOW IS THE PDO THREAD LIFT UNIQUE?
How does a PDO thread lift compare to other anti-aging treatments and procedures? In many ways, a PDO thread lift is an excellent “middle ground” option between an invasive facelift surgery and injectable fillers/skin rejuvenation treatments.
Essentially, a PDO thread lift could be an ideal option if you want more dramatic results than those you might achieve with cosmetic injectables – but you aren’t ready to go under the knife.
One of the most exciting benefits of a PDO thread lift is that it can offer the best of both worlds: you’ll be able to enjoy results that are very close to those of a surgical facelift while also getting a boost to your body’s natural production of collagen. The threads subtly “lift” your face, simultaneously encouraging increased collagen production. This means that your results will be both immediately beautiful and continue to improve with time.
WHY IS PDO THREAD LIFTING USED?
PDO thread lifting is used as an alternative to traditional facelift procedures to help give support to and lift areas of skin where there is sagging. PDO thread lifting may be used for decreasing the signs of aging on a variety of facial areas, including
-
- Cheeks
- Neck
- Eyebrows
- Around and under the eyes
- Nasolabial folds
- Knees
- Around the mouth
- Jawline
- Jowls
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR PDO THREAD LIFTING?
You may be an appropriate candidate for PDO thread lifting if:
-
- You have wrinkles or loose skin of the face
- You are seeking a treatment alternative to the surgical facelift
- You are overall healthy
- You have realistic expectations (remember this is not a surgical procedure)
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A PDO THREAD LIFT CONSULTATION?
During your initial PDO thread lift consultation, you will meet with the medical staff and their team. We will review your medical history including: previous surgeries, personal goals, medications you are presently taking, your skin quality, your overall physical, and your emotional health.
During the consultation, pictures may be taken to help keep record of your before and after results. The medical staff will help to achieve your desired results.
Focal Point does offer guest financing options thru Care Credit and can be discussed in more detail during your consultation.
WHAT DOES THE PDO THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
A PDO thread lift is performed in the comfort of our Medical Office at Focal Point as an outpatient procedure and involves gently inserting PDO threads beneath your skin.
-
- To begin, treatment areas will be numbed prior to administration of the threads in order to ensure maximum comfort and minimize pain felt.
- Since there are a variety of thread options, such as braided, spiral, molded and more, your medical professional will choose the thread type that is best suited to your treatment needs based on what was discovered in the initial consultation.
- Once you are comfortable and relaxed, we will gently insert the PDO threads into various layers of skin. The threads will grab and lift the skin up.
In general, total treatment time can range anywhere from 30–60 minutes. Although, total procedure time may vary based on what areas will require treatment.
DOES A PDO THREAD LIFT REQUIRE ANY INCISIONS?
No! There are no cuts or incisions involved in the PDO thread lift process. Instead, your treatment expert uses a small needle that is pre-loaded with the PDO thread. The needle is carefully inserted into your skin (parallel to the skin’s surface), then gently removed. It leaves behind the PDO threads, which have been precisely situated to provide your desired results.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PDO THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE?
Because PDO thread lifting grabs and lifts the skin, you will notice results immediately after treatment. Beyond that, you may experience bruising immediately following your treatment. Our medical staff takes all the precautions possible to reduce any potential bruising, but each person is different. Some soreness and swollenness can also be expected for the first 3-5 days after the treatment. Don’t be alarmed if you notice your skin has some slight indents as those are absolutely normal and typically go away within the first few days. You may also feel some overall tightness in your face for the 2 weeks following your treatment.
To aid the recovery and healing process, we may recommend you avoid certain activities. For example, if the areas around your mouth or cheeks were treated, we recommend avoiding any situations that would place stress on these areas.
The threads will dissolve around six to nine months after the procedure. However, because the threads stimulate collagen production, results can still be seen months after the threads have dissolved. For maintained results, repeat visits may be needed every nine to eighteen months.

HOW MUCH DOES A PDO THREAD LIFT COST IN PHOENIX?
Like any treatment or rejuvenation procedure, PDO thread lift costs are best discussed during a personalized consultation appointment. The total cost largely depends on your desired treatment area.
Most insurance carriers consider it an elective procedure, but our team can provide detailed information about your projected costs.
CAN A PDO THREAD LIFT BE COMBINED WITH FILLERS?
Yes! In fact, guests that want to achieve the most successful anti-aging results utilize a targeted combination of a PDO thread lift and injectable fillers.
The signs of aging are caused by a combination of changes in your skin, soft tissue, and even your bone structure. These shifts then result in a loss of volume and sagging skin, as well as wrinkles and fine lines. A PDO thread lift is just one “tool” you can use to fight back against aging. The thread lift works exceptionally well when used in conjunction with cosmetic fillers (to restore lost volume), as well as laser treatments.
It’s also helpful to know that, in many cases, fillers can actually extend the results of your PDO thread lift because they support increased collagen production.
At Focal Point Vitality, we’ll discuss your goals and how different treatments can support you in achieving optimal results. We take a collaborative approach to help you decide on a tailored treatment plan that aligns with your needs, goals, and even your budget.
